Anti-rust and anti-corrosion handle for ship

source: time:2024-11-04 hot:5

In marine environment, corrosion is one of the main factors affecting the safety and life of ships. In order to effectively resist the corrosion and damage of metal materials caused by seawater, salt spray and other harsh environments, and ensure the long-term stable and reliable operation of hull structure and various accessories, the design and application of anti-rust and anti-corrosion handles for ships are particularly important. This paper will introduce the material selection, manufacturing technology, performance characteristics and installation and use in detail.

I. Material

1. Stainless steel: At present, the most commonly used material is stainless steel. According to its chemical composition, it can be divided into several models and specifications, such as 304 and 316L. They all have strong acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance and pitting corrosion resistance, and are not easy to rust and discolor in humid environment.

2. Aluminum alloy: Aluminum alloy is widely used in making all kinds of navigation equipment because of its light and strong characteristics. After special surface treatment (such as anodic oxidation), a dense protective film can be formed to prevent further oxidation reaction.

3. Engineering plastics/composite materials: With the development of new synthetic resin technology, such as nylon and polycarbonate have become one of the new materials to be considered in the production of handles. They have good mechanical strength and aging resistance, and the hardness and wear resistance can be improved by adding appropriate fillers.

Second, the production process

1. Precision casting: usually used for products with small batch or complex shape. Firstly, a wax mold is designed according to the drawing requirements and molten metal is poured into a gypsum mold for molding; After cooling and solidification, the outer shell is removed to obtain the required parts blank.

2. Cold upsetting and hot forging method: it is suitable for the processing and manufacturing of small parts in the process of mass standardized production. This method needs the help of mechanical equipment such as punching machine to heat the raw materials to the molding temperature and quickly extrude and deform to form the final product shape.

3. CNC turning+polishing: this is a high-precision machining method, which is mainly used for the later finishing of high-grade products. It can obtain a smoother and more delicate appearance texture under the premise of ensuring the dimensional tolerance.

Third, the performance indicators

1. Tensile strength ≥ 700 MPa;

2. Elongation ≥ 20%;

3. Surface roughness ≤Ra0.8μm;

4. It works normally in the temperature range of 40 C ~+90 C;

5. There is no obvious fading phenomenon after long-term immersion test.

Fourth, the installation matters needing attention

1. Before installation, carefully check all parts of the handle for damage and defects, and clean up the attachments to avoid polluting other parts;

2. Choose an appropriate fixing method (screw connection/welding) according to the actual situation, and at the same time, pay attention not to tighten too much to avoid local stress concentration and increase the risk of cracking failure;

3. For the occasions that are easily affected by shock and vibration, damping washers should be added appropriately to reduce the possibility of adverse consequences caused by vibration transfer effect.

In a word, as an important part of ensuring navigation safety, anti-rust and anti-corrosion handles for ships must be selected and manufactured in strict compliance with relevant industry standards and norms in order to achieve the expected results. Only in this way can we ensure that the lives and property of offshore operators are not threatened by damage!
